April’s  “Face of Abe” is a self-admitted sugary food addict and the owner of a future celebrity pet. When he’s not satisfying his massive sweet tooth (and working out to offset it) or snapping pics of his playful and photogenic pup Rex, this Abe’r plays a vital role in empowering our client’s conversational banking capabilities. Say hi to Patrick Ng, Senior Product Manager.

Where do you call home?

Orlando, FL

How long have you lived there? Where before?

I’ve lived in Orlando for almost six years. Before that, I’ve lived in Seattle and Boston and grew up just outside of San Francisco.

What’s this about a celebrity pet?

I have a three year-old Corgi named Rex who is a future Instagram star. Follow him at #rexthecorgisaurus.

Where did you attend school?

I received my Master of Business Administration from Boston College and did my undergrad work at the University of Washington.

What led you to your career path?

My career has been a bit of a journey. I started in pricing for a large defense contractor and later led Claims and Sales teams in the insurance industry. Unbeknownst at the time, all those interactions with employees and customers helped influence my Product journey as we worked to build and deliver new features. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of teams that have helped to improve the customer experience across different industries.

Speaking of your role, tell us more about what you do at Abe.ai…

In a nutshell, I work with our banking partners to deliver voice and text capabilities that enable their customers to engage with them wherever and whenever is most convenient.

How long have you been with Abe?

Just under one year.

What do you enjoy best about working at Abe.ai?

Hands down – the people. On a day-to-day basis, I get to work with unbelievably talented, engaging, and motivated people who are all aligned on delivering awesome products to our customers.

What do you do in your spare time?

Eating. No joke, I have a sweet tooth. I love ice cream, cake, cookies, and donuts. Especially the maple bars at Top Pot in Seattle. Luckily, Orlando has also become a bit of a foodie paradise over the past few years.

What’s getting heavy rotation in your music playlist these days?

I’ll give a plug to Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors – “Here We Go.”

Favorite TV show/series?

Of all time? That’s a tough one, let’s go with “Burn Notice.”

Favorite movie of all time?

“The Rookie”

What’s one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?

Portions of the movie “Dangerous Minds” were filmed at the high school where I grew up.
