Salsa dancer, violin instructor, yoga enthusiast and….metrics/analytics/data guru? Our Faces of Abe feature for July is a person of many interests and talents with a knack for deftly switching between the left and right brain. Say “hello” to Kristin Flentke, Engagement Manager.
Where do you call home?
I live in the College Park area of Orlando, FL.
Who calls Central Florida home along with you?
My husband (Jake) and I are the proud parents of a sweet calico cat named Tigger.
Where did you attend school?
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.
What led you to your career path?
I enjoy helping companies implement and leverage new technologies because the work requires many different facets of your brain. Beyond a technical integration, there are desired business outcomes and the human element to adopting new technologies that come into play. Following graduate school, I knew that an emerging industry like FinTech was a great field for pursuing a career where I could leverage my analytical skills and interest in business strategy.
Speaking of your role, tell us more about what you do at Abe.ai…
I am responsible for helping our clients (and their customers) get the most out of our products. I am heavily focused on success metrics, end user analytics, product enhancements, and overall alignment with our clients’ strategic goals.
How long have you been with Abe?
I will celebrate my one-year anniversary in October! It feels like I have been with Abe for much longer though because I was made to feel part of the team right away and we have accomplished a lot in such a short period of time.
What do you enjoy best about working at Abe.ai?
My role intersects with marketing, product management, data analytics, sales, customer success operations, and just about every other area of Abe. I really enjoy the cross-functional aspects of my role. Let’s just say the work is never dull!
What do you do in your spare time?
Once we are on the other side of COVID-19, I can’t wait to get back to salsa dancing, enjoying live music, and traveling. In the meantime, I am grateful to have Zoom yoga classes with my sister and any time spent outdoors.
What’s getting heavy rotation in your music playlist these days?
I am listening to a lot of Billy Strings right now. I love virtuosic string players and he is incredible! Other than that, my Spotify algorithm is all over the place – from Beethoven to Beyonce.
Favorite TV show/series?
Hands down, the best show of all time is “Star Trek: Next Generation.”
What’s one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
I studied music in college and began my professional career in performing arts administration. I’ve also taught violin and viola privately.
